U.S. Expats Living Abroad - What Tax Filings are Required?

If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holder), you are a U.S. tax resident, no matter where you live and work.

If you move abroad either permanently or temporarily, you are still subject to the U.S. income tax rules and must continue to file tax returns.

Once you move abroad, in additional to your annual Form 1040 tax return, there are some additional tax filings that may arise.
