Build an Alter to YHVH? How?🔥

I woke up this morning at 4 am wanting to rise and build an altar and to make a thank offering to Him.....So Yehovah saved Maggie’s life in the past 48 hours. HOW can I thank Him publicly? If we look at the Biblical characters we see them going through trials and seeing the hand of Yah deliver them. One of the first things they would do is build an altar and burn a thank offering on it. How can we do that now since we are not sacrificing animals anymore? The Melchizedek Covenant makes provision for this kind of sacrifice.... thoughts?

Are there instances in the Scriptures where people made a special meal and invited everyone to hear the story of how YHVH delivered them to honor HIM?
