All public infrastructure today is focused on vaccination leaving millions vaxxed but also in who tests from the state in the lurch. People in big cities wait in hours long lines with no hope of results in a timely fashion.
In a 85% adult vaccinated COVID country like US reducing the severity and disruption of COVID to daily life is paramount. We need proper therapeutics. Big Pharma establishment has blocked this discussion for months leaving us helpless when Omicron struck.
Lockdowns, boosters, mandates, double masking won't save you. We have to live our lives with plenty of FREE at-home tests, therapeutics you can buy anywhere, and yes boosters for the vulnerable. COVID is here to stay. Force leadership to accept and act like it.
Democracy is messy, but neither legislatures nor governors (nor unelected public health experts) have a monopoly on the truth, or on the proper balance between safety and freedom.
