The Texas Killing Fields are a 25-acre stretch of land a mile from Interstate Highway 45 that is bordered by the Calder Oil Field. Thirty bodies of murder victims have been discovered in the Killing Fields area since the early 1970s. They were mostly the bodies of young ladies or girls. Furthermore, several young girls have vanished from this location, and their bodies have yet to be found.

Many of the killings are thought to be the work of multiple serial killers. The victims were mostly between the ages of 12 and 25. Some of them had comparable physical characteristics, such as hairstyles. Despite the efforts of League City, Texas police and the FBI, only a few of these killings have been solved which were based on convicts' confessions or confessions obtained under pressure from the police.

"A fantastic area for killing someone and getting away with it," according to one description of the fields. "You could literally see the refineries that are in the south end of League City," said Ami Canaan Mann, director of the film Texas Killing Fields, after seeing some of the places of discovered bodies in League City.

The I-45 could be seen. If you yelled, though, no one would likely hear you. And even if you ran, you might not be able to find a place to go."
