COVID-19: US doctors brace for possible post-NYE surge in cases

Although many New Year's Eve festivities were scaled back or cancelled due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, millions of Americans still attended packed events throughout the United States.

Even as the variant spreads like a wildfire, there were no restrictions in Las Vegas - where about 300,000 people celebrated the new year along the iconic Vegas Strip. And in places like Idaho, a large, unmasked crowd watched the famous Potato Drop.

As Jennifer Johnson reports, doctors fear health systems will pay the price, as they brace for a post-holiday COVID new cases surge.
