Sizing Rifle Brass for Precision || 308 Winchester Reloading Series

In this episode of 308 Winchester reloading, we resize our brass for our precision reloads. Using a Redding Boss press, K&M arbor press and LE Wilson dies.

Sizing Brass for the Remington rifle - The first thing we do is bump the shoulder back .002" using a LE Wilson bushing die without the bushing (as a body die). Measuring the shoulder using the LE Wilson case gauge, identify the shoulder and use die position to bump it back. This bump keeps the brass formed to the chamber and lets it chamber without a problem.
Next, using a LE Wilson neck die with the K&M Arbor press, the neck is sized down using a bushing. This particular Die only sizes part of the next to the size of the bushing you select.
Finally, the brass is run over a LE Wilson mandrel die, not once but twice. This cleans up the inside neck surface and sets the final neck tension.
I find this process gives the best neck tension consistency while keeping the brass formed to the chamber.

LE Wilson case gauge with micrometer top
Hornady calipers
Imperial sizing wax

Steps in our reloading process:
1. Anneal
2. De-prime
3. Tumble clean
4. Size brass - bump shoulder ~.002 , size the neck and run a mandrel die.
