USA - Russia: The phone call before the great crisis for 2022.

The challenging but not promising 50 minutes of a telephone conversation between Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin in the shadow of the Ukrainian crisis took place in a difficult climate.

Kremlin officials say the Russian president has warned Biden that new US sanctions will lead to a complete breakdown in relations between the two countries.

Both sides have accused the other of provocations, and tens of thousands of Russian troops have moved near the Ukrainian border.
