The Lookout Tower At Shawnee Mission Park

This is the Lookout Tower which use to be in Shawnee Mission Park, a 1,600 acre park in Johnson County, Kansas, located at 7900 Renner Road. The circle drive that surrounded it is still there, but the tower is gone. I believe it's been around 10 years since they took this iconic structure down. I shot these video clips on August 29th, 2008. The tower was built and opened in July of 1964.

This video was captured using my 12.1 mega pixel Casio Exilim camera, which was a great camera at the time, but of course camera's back then were not equipped with very good anti-shake ( EIS - electronic image stabilization ) features, so the footage is rather "shaky".
