Dan Schilling- AFSOC Operator, Author, Extreme Sports Madman!

Dan Schilling has had an unreal life and career. On a fateful day in October 1993, Dan found himself in the middle of Somalia, living through a firestorm that we would later term "Blackhawk Down". He used those experiences to write the critically acclaimed New York Times bestseller "The Battle of Mogadishu"; from there he found a home telling AFSOC's stories.

Fast forward a decade or two, and Dan published the unreal story of Medal of Honor winner John Chapman. "Alone at Dawn" is on every single reading list for a reason- not only is it *another* New York Times bestseller but a testament to what the AFSOC community aspires to be.

We can not say thank you enough to Dan for his continued support of AFSPECWAR and Air Force Special Operations. Hooyah!
