Based on further reading, it appears that the concern is with what is known as the 5G-C Band as stated in this FAA brief: https://www.faa.gov/newsroom/faa-statement-5g

In part, it reads: “The FAA is working with the aviation and wireless industries to find a solution that allows 5G C-band and aviation to safely coexist. While that work is underway, the FAA alerted operators that Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) may be issued to restrict operations in areas where 5G interference is possible. It also provides additional information about aircraft systems that could be affected.
These recently published documents provide further information to operators about steps that will be required in areas potentially affected by 5G C-band interference.”

According to Gartner.com “C-band refers to the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum allotted for satellite transmissions in the 4GHz to 8GHz frequency range. C-band satellite antennas are used frequently in areas of the world where signals can become degraded due to heavy rain or other intense climate-related conditions.”
