The mini-series, released exactly 30 years after the execution of serial killer, rapist, kidnapper and necrophile Ted Bundy, reveals details of a long-running paradox: How did a young, intelligent, promisingly handsome, law student become a cold-blooded killer? The fact is that Bundy was mentally ill, but also very clever and cunning: he had trained as a psychologist, so he knew perfectly well what they wanted to hear from him. When Ted went into politics, he learned that oversight agencies in different states did not share information with each other, which further encouraged him to commit crimes in different states, and since the term "serial killer" was not yet in common use in the 70s, it took a long time for investigators to link all the murders to one man. The Ted Bundy case became the most prominent case in the press; Ted himself, of course, actively contributed to the hype, such as getting married right in the courtroom. And when he was taken to death row, people from all over the country gathered around the prison and sold electric chair badges for $5.
