18 Wheeler vs Pickup, GOODRICH, December 29, 2021 - At approximately 7:05 am on December 29, 2021, the driver of a red Chevy Silverado pickup was north-bound on US-59 in the left lane. As he was passing the Goodrich Truckstop, the driver of an 18 wheeler pulled out and veered all the way over to the left lane failing to yield to the pickup. The vehicles collided. The impact caused the pickup to leave the pavement to the left, enter the center median, and then slide across through the south-bound lanes as it came to rest facing south on the shoulder. Amazingly, there were no injuries. Corporal Ramey Bass, with the Texas Highway Patrol, was dispatched to investigate. The driver of the 18 wheeler was cited for failure to yield. Clifton Chevrolet out of Corrigan was summoned to recover the 18 wheeler, while East Tex Towing out of Shepherd was summoned to recover the pickup.
