Sen. Rand Paul and Anthony Fauci went at it many times throughout 2021 during several Senate committee hearings. Paul is a staunch Fauci critic and has called on him numerous times to resign. Anthony Fauci wrote a paper where he said gain of function research was worth the risk of a pandemic.

Fauci said in an email last year, 2020, that face masks aren't needed unless an individual was sick and that the coronavirus was able to pass through personal face masks easily.
