Winter weather advisories are in effect across most of the viewing area. They are in effect through the mid morning for most areas, expect the Northwoods where it's ending at 2 pm. A band of snow will develop tonight and move in from the southwest to the northeast. Temperatures will remain mild in the upper 20s with winds picking up out of the southeast at 10-15 mph with gusts near 25-30 mph. Snowfall accumulations will be 1-3 inches for lakeshore areas and the Fox Valley. Northwoods locations will accumulate 3-6 inches except by the lakeshore. As we head into the morning, snow will transition over to some freezing drizzle. This will add a thin glaze in the morning before temperatures rise above freezing. any untreated roadway or surface will become slippery. Highs Monday will get into the upper 30s with breezy west winds around 10-20 with gusts near 30. Another round of snow comes in Tuesday afternoon with a very similar set up. It will start off as snow and then turn to a wintry mix before ending. Temperatures fall into the mid 20s on Wednesday followed by lower to mid 20s Thursday and Friday with mostly sunny skies. It looks like we welcome in the new year with some more snow but this is about a week out so the track of this system could easily change.
