INGREDIENTS FOR CLAM CHOWDER SOUP:
►6 slices bacon, cut into 1/2″ strips
â–º2 medium carrots, sliced into thin rings or half rings
â–º2 celery ribs, finely diced
â–º1 small onion, finely diced
â–º4 Tbsp all-purpose flour
â–º2 cups chicken broth or stock
â–º1 cup chopped clams with their juice (from 2 small cans)
â–º1 bay leaf
â–º1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
â–º1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce
â–º1/2 tsp dried thyme
â–º1 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper, or to taste
â–º1 1/2 lbs (6 medium) potatoes (Yukon gold or russet), peeled
â–º2 cups milk (any kind)
â–º1 cup whipping cream or heavy whipping cream
