U.S. CDC cuts COVID-19 quarantine time

U.S. health authorities on Monday shortened the recommended time for isolation for asymptomatic Americans with COVID-19 to five days from the previous guidance of 10 days, as President Joe Biden pledged to ramp up production of COVID-19 tests as the Omicron variant threatened to overwhelm hospitals and stifle travel plans.
