San Francisco Taxicab

This week on The Abstract we go back in time to the San Francisco taxicab business of 20 years ago. I started driving a cab in San Francisco in 1996 and in 2001 I completed this comprehensive documentary called “San Francisco Taxicab." It starts with a mini-history of the city itself, then quickly moves into the history of its taxicab business. Every aspect of the business is efficiently explained: the companies, equipment, places of business, the medallion system and the life of a cab driver. A couple of old-timers (my friends) contributed to the production. Please join us for an information-packed 48 minutes.
