Bullseye for Practical Shooting

Bullseyes are often maligned as having no value for practical shooters but this is an uninformed viewpoint. Conventional competition is the origin of all marksmanship training. Tactical trainers such as Kyle Lamb and Larry Vickers incorporate bullseye targets for some portions of their training, with Vickers famously quipping about his use of them, "I'm not here to give you what you want. I am here to give you what you need."

The courses of fire and targets used in conventional bullseye competition are not arbitrary and they continue to offer real value to tactical shooters and trainers today, especially those with the skill and desire to move beyond typical qualification.
