Industry 2050 – Vision for a Climate Neutral Future

What does the industry of the future look like? IN4climate.NRW has a clear vision: Germany's number one industrial state, North Rhine-Westphalia, will become greener, cleaner and more sustainable by 2050. Fossil fuels will no longer be needed for energy generation. Alongside electric power, hydrogen will be the most important energy carrier for industry. The production of basic materials is also changing: steel, cement or glass will be produced without fossil energy. And the waste gases produced in the process will become building blocks for new, sustainable products.
