Climbing Pinnacle Mountain - E61

We start out our hike in Cumberland Gap and then proceed to the Furnace. Next we are on our way up towards the cannons and the two armies information plaque. The climb starts to get harder and cross the road a couple of times to the forest that has a very dense canopy and becomes quite dark in the understory.

Along the way we see some interesting history! The pinnacle outlooks are incredible! Even if you can’t climb the whole mountain, drive up the road to the top - both outlooks are great! This time we saw a wedding!!

On the way back Bryce falls, thinking he could get down the mountain faster, and twists his ankle. We find a Civil War Scout embankment structure. What is the history on it? We don’t know exactly what it is but check out the chapters if you can’t watch the whole thing!

We see all kinds of historical locations on our trip up to the top of the Pinnacle at Cumberland Gap.
