Душе моя прегрешная
My sinful soul.

Dusha moya pregreshnaya, Chto ne plachesh'sya?! Ty plach', dusha, ryday vsegda, Tem uteshish'sya. Ne uspeyesh'ty togda plakati, Kogda priidet smert'. A po smerti grekhi tvoya Oblichat tebya.

Skin' odezhdu ty grekhovnuyu V pokayanii. A ne skinesh'ty grekhi svoya — Ada ne minesh'. Stradalitsy ventsy nosyat Na glavakh svoikh. Oni pesnyu poyut arkhangel'skuyu: Alliluiya.

My sinful soul, why don't you weep? You shall weep, O soul, and lament always, and therein shall you Find Consolation, for you won't be able to weep when death comes, for after death your sins will condemn you.

Cast Away your sinful demeanor in Repentance, for if you won't cast your sins away, you surely won't escape hell.

The Sufferers wear Crowns on their heads and they sing the Song of the Archangels: Alleluia, Allelulia, Alleluia.

The Way to Life is via the Cross of Truth. There are 2 sides to the cross we are asked to carry in life if we choose to follow the Crucified Christ; Forgiveness and Contrition. When we seek to know the truth of our soul before Truth Himself we begin the process of repentance leading to Sanctification and our participation in the Divine Nature of God which is Love. This Love is measured by the Charity we have towards others in living by Truth, including our response to injustices against us, Holy Courage found only in the Power of His Humility. By uniting sorrow for our sins with the Salvific Passion of Christ for the Salvation of others we participate in the Redemptive Suffering of the Redemption He freely gave to all who will to Follow the Way of the Cross. We Mourn the offenses by which we have failed and hurt others and Seek to be Forgiven for what we have no power to restore. The truth of the sincerity of our Contrition is if we use our free will to Forgive those who tresspass against us, this is the test of our will by fire. The Joy of Redemption is that Jesus has the Power to Heal and to Restore what we cannot in Perfect Justice and Mercy. The torment of hell is the 'worm that never dies', the conviction of one's own conscience, conscious of guilt. This guilt goes with us after the separation of the soul from the body (death) to convict us of the truth of our own undeniable will behind the choices we made. "And this is the judgment: because the Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light: for their works were evil. For every one that doth evil hateth the Light, and cometh not to the Light, that his works may not be reproved."

St. Paul warned of this in his 2nd Epistle, "And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the Love of the Truth, that they might be Saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying:
That all may be Judged who have not believed the Truth, but have consented to iniquity."

By their own will the Grace of God is withdrawn from them to suffer the consequences of every deception they willed to recieve in intellect because they consented to it in the malice of their own will.

Forgive us our trespasses as we Forgive those who trespass against us.
Kyrie eleison, Christe eleison.

The poor in spirit, i.e. the truly Humble, will Mourn for their transgressions, and whoever is filled with Sorrow for his own sins behaves to others with Meekness and Clemency. The Pure and Clean of heart are possessed of these Virtues to be Just. Where Peace of Conscience Reigns it cannot be expelled from the soul by any tribulations, persecutions, or injustices of men. What is this poverty of spirit, but Humility and Contrition? This Virtue of Humility is placed in the first place, because it is the foundation of every other Virtue, as pride is of every vice. Pride deprived our first parents of their Original Innocence, and nothing but Humility can restore us to our former Purity. We may pray and fast, we may be possessed of Mercy, Chastity, or any Virtues, if Humility does not accompany them, they will be like the virtue of the Pharisee, Without foundation, Without fruit. ~ St. Chrysostom, Hom. xv.
