The United States has been sliding into socialism as the idea grows in popularity among younger generations, and in public policy. Yet this is actually not a new phenomenon. According to Kevin Hassett, former Chairman of the President's Council of Economic Advisors, this has been something going on for a long time, and the Trump administration may have tried to stop it. In his new book, "The Drift: Stopping America's Slide to Socialism," defines it as a battle between freedom and between socialism.
