This 5x50 maduro stick features a very dark almost jet black oily, slightly toothy firm wrapper with a couple medium veins, tight seams, triple cap and a musty chocolate aroma. First light reveals medium bodied flavors of a oily, deep but airy earth with a bit of pepper and dark spice on the finish. Body is a solid medium with a long oily finish. The first third starts off with a bitter, oily chemical taste that luckily went away after a few draws. It settled down to a oily coffee and dark peppery wood flavor, with a spicy oily finish on the lips. The 2nd third raises the body slightly, still with a perfect draw and plentiful rich smoke production. Flavors shift slightly to a creamy textured heavy spicy coffee, with a oily, spicy earthy finish. Ending at 50 minutes the last third showed no further changes, just getting very hot with an inch remaining.
