“Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life" - December 21, 2021

Our Lord’s Word given to Roger on his confirmation day is a Word of encouragement for you today, also. “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” But how can that Word give you courage? Yes, there is the promise of “the crown of life.” But there’s more! “Be faithful” is not only imperative, but it is passive. You’ll have to pardon the grammar instruction, but it’s essential. Because this command is passive, it means that it must be given to you. It is not something you do, strictly speaking. It is something you do as you’ve been blessed too! Jesus promises you “the crown of life,” He gives you the faithfulness needed to receive it!
