CDC stats raise more questions then answers

The main problem isn't the hard numbers. It's the estimates. I use an unrelated example, murder Hornets, to show what high risk clear stats look like.

Bizarrely enough, their estimates actually reduce viral fatality rates but slightly raise numbers. How are these extras missed?
