Calls for migration boost to bolster workforce

Business leaders are calling for a boost in migration levels to bolster the workforce.
They want 190,000 places to be made available annually for people wanting to permanently migrate to Australia and for two-thirds of that to be composed of skilled migrants.
The current migration cap is 160,000.
New research shows for every 1,000 migrants there would be $124 million in higher economic output and $59 million in increased investment.
