Throwing Chairs Before The Start Of The BNP Rally @sojibbdonline

As part of the celebration of the golden jubilee of independence, chair-throwing took place between the two parties even before the start of the BNP rally in Sylhet. The incident took place at Sylhet Registry Ground around 3.15 pm on Saturday.

The gathering has been organized on the initiative of Sylhet Divisional Coordinating Committee on the occasion of Subarna Jayanti celebration. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is scheduled to address the rally as the chief guest.

It was seen on the spot that the rally stage was ready on the occasion of Sylhet Free Day at the registry ground. Next to the stage was a stage for cultural events. Local BNP leaders were speaking on the stage. For some time, leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal and Juba Dal were joining the procession.

Leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal were chanting slogans in the name of different BNP leaders from the audience. Ariful Haque Chowdhury, mayor of Sylhet City Corporation, and Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, advisor to the BNP chairperson, were requesting from the stage not to chant slogans in the name of the person. At one stage, chair-throwing took place between the leaders and workers behind and in front of the audience. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has not yet joined the rally. At one stage, one side of the student group chased the other side and drove them out of the venue.
