Heath gives a tribute to Rush. We review the problem with the Kap (The thumbnail is a stat corrected version of the meme) strategy and why it's divisive. And I introduce an important psychological topic called concept creep and how it manifests here.
And we finally dive into the Cov Virus. Start with some headlines and then into the numbers. It's an important topic that ties into all our other topics.
We also dive into censorship of scientific literature and how it's much more subtle than standard freedom of speech. 1. Jobs threatened in Academia if you don't walk the line. 2. No grant money to if you don't walk the line. 3. Diversity, equity, and inclusion requirements on scientific inquiry (and the double binds that go with it.), 4. with differing models, the ones based on "proper" assumptions being put to the public forefront.
