The balance in the Western diet is skewed because we rely too heavily on processed foods and foods high in sugar, salt and saturated fats. We need to eat more fresh foods, such as fruits and vegetables.

Many people know that smoking is bad for your heart, but not many know the reasons why. Smoking can lead to a variety of health problems, including coronary artery disease,
peripheral vascular disease and sudden cardiac death. Smoking can affect your heart health in a number of ways. Smoking is terrible for your health in so many ways, but did you know it can also affect your heart health? Smoking can cause artery blockage, which can lead to blood clots and heart attack. It also makes the heart work harder to pump blood through the body, which stresses the muscle.
3. Keep in active lifestyle

The best way to keep your heart healthy is to stay active. Doing so will help lower your
cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels which in turn can help reduce your risk
for having a heart attack or stroke. Physical exercise has many benefits. It can help
relieve stress, boost self-esteem, and improve cardiovascular health. Studies have found
that even regular physical activity for just 10 minutes a day can reduce the risk of
cardiovascular disease by up to 30%.
4. Maintaining a healthy body weight
The American Heart Association recommends a healthy body weight to keep your heart healthy. This is because overweight people are six times more likely to die from a heart attack, and because being overweight increases your risk of developing diabetes,
high blood pressure, and cholesterol. Eating healthier foods and getting regular physical
activity can help you stay at a healthy weight.
5. Reduce your stress
Stress can be a major problem when it comes to your health. It is important to reduce the
levels of stress in order to lower your risk of heart disease. Ways you can do that is by
exercising, meditation, talking with friends, and practicing yoga.
