Time for a New ‘Monroe Initiative’ to Counter China, Russia and Iran in Latin AmericaShow more

In the wake of a fraud-riddled Peruvian election last summer that has ushered in a communist regime in Lima, the Chinese, Russians and Iranians are aggressively pursuing with their clients throughout Latin America the colonization of the hemisphere’s few remaining Free World nations. An election in Chile this weekend and upcoming voting in Colombia and Brazil next year offer the grim prospect of the contemporary Communist International – which is doing business in the Western Hemisphere as the Forum of Sao Paolo – running the table completely.

To address such dangers, the Center for Security Policy and the Center for a Secure Free Society are jointly sponsoring a webinar on the eve of the Chilean presidential run-off election from 1-2:15 p.m. ET on Thursday, 16 December. The program will feature comments from experts focusing on the implications of that important race, in which voters in Chile will not only make an epic choice between Communist and conservative candidates, but perhaps shape the future course of their hemisphere, as well. They will address the need for a new hemispheric Monroe Initiative aimed at supporting freedom throughout the region and thwarting the ambitions of its non-hemispheric enemies to dominate Latin America.
