Pinar Del Rio Seleccion Reserva Limitada 2010 Cigar Review

This 6.5x52 torpedo stick offers a dark chocolate Pennsylvania broadleaf wrapper with minimal veins, tight seams and a firm pack. First light reveals a firm draw, good smoke production with extremely rich oily medium bodied flavors of nuts, sweetness and earth. The first third develops those flavors while the draw loosens up a bit after another tip cut. The burn is good, and the finish is relatively short and clean keeping an oily earthiness. 30 min in at the 1/2 way point, flavors got deeper going to a big earthy finish, dropping most of the sweetness. I clipped a bit more off and the draw improved quite a bit. The burn needed a couple small touchups but nothing major. Just before the lower band point the flavors shifted to a creamy leather and earth with a very dry airy quality, and a longer dry finish. Ending at 1:20 the last third drops the cream for a dry roasted coffee flavor and the finish picks up a nice kick of spice that lingers for some time. The body remains medium while the strength slowly creeps up to medium-full.
