"Died for Some?" A Critical Review of James White’s The Potter’s Freedom Chapter 6

Does the New Testament teach limited #atonement?

Dr. James White argues that Matthew 23:37, 1 Timothy 2:4, and 2 Peter 3:9 do not teach "universal atonement." I argue that all three texts universal atonement and offer several reasons why this is the case. Specifically, I do a verse-by-verse exegesis of 1 Timothy 2:1-6 to show that Paul affirms a universal atonement.

Our critical but fair review of The Potter's Freedom has illuminated the fallacious #exegesis and rhetorical haze offered by James White, and we will continue until the entire book is reviewed.
