“Why do dogs love new snow? Good question. Let me answer with another: Why do children like snow? Why some adults? I remember growing up in the Arizona desert and seeing Christmas cards with snow and feeling deprived. Really deprived When it snowed once in Tucson, everyone was crazy with excitement.

"Honestly, I don't know why the snow is so exciting for dogs, children and adults who don't have to catch it with a shovel. But maybe because it is new and different (predators love change, animals hate it), and it is turning the world into one big playroom for animals that love to play. (I also mean river otters who like to play in the snow. And bears.)
