The U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday voted to recommend the Justice Department bring contempt of Congress charges against former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows for failing to comply with a subpoena from the committee investigating the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol—an offense for which federal prosecutors have already brought charges against former Trump strategist Steve Bannon.
