Senate Democrats vote to raise the debt ceiling by $2.5 trillion. Last week, Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell reached a deal that changed Senate rules. It allows Democrats to pass the measure by a simple majority vote, with no Republican support. But this will obviously hurt their midterm election prospects.

The producer price inflation jumped 9.6% in November. It is the highest increase on record. The consumer price index also jumped 6.8%, which is a nearly 40-year high. With the added pressure of inflation, the White House is hoping that the Federal Reserve quickly adjusts its strategy to tighten monetary policy.

Mark Zuckerberg is in big trouble. Facebook's lawyers said that “fact checks” are just opinion - not fact. So now Section 230 may not be able to protect Facebook anymore.
