What, in your opinion, is the greatest story ever told in the history of the world? If you're like most people, you'd say, "The story of ME! My story -- my life story!"...even though most of us would never admit it in public.
Well wouldn'tcha know it, but your potential customers are thinking the same thing -- they're thinking that the greatest story ever told stars THEM...that THEY are the main character at the center of the greatest story ever told; and that everyone else around them are merely supporting characters.
Why is it important to know this as online business owners and marketers? Because it's crucial to recognize that everyone wants to feel special. And everyone is convinced that they, in fact, are special, different, and unique.
So if you want to magnetically attract the sorts of people we want to work with to your business, your marketing messages, and ultimately to your offers...Treat them as if they're the main character at the center of the greatest story ever told. Because the truth is, most people feel neglected and misunderstood.
So if you can genuinely and honestly empathize with them -- not so that you can get something for yourself, but so that you can genuinely help them with your helpful and pain-solving products and services -- then you won't have to worry about getting your financial or business needs filled.
So don't talk about yourself. I mean, this is Day One of Marketing 101 -- the absolute basic fundamentals here. Don't talk about yourself. Nobody cares if you think your business is #1 or if you think your product is top quality.
People are totally and completely self-consumed with their issues, their problems, and their challenges. So instead, talk about them...in their language. Talk about their problems, talk about the consequences of their problems. Talk about their issues and how you can help them get the results they so badly want.
