Montreal's futuristic, titanium-clad Biosphere is one of the most exciting buildings in the world. It's a saucer shaped greenhouse whose dome rises to an impressive height and slopes downward all around. The unique architecture allows for an observatory inside and you'll love visiting all year round.

The Biosphere looks like something out of a futuristic sci-fi movie, or some alien space craft that has just been planted in the heart of Montreal. While it’s not an alien spacecraft, it is certainly a fascinating piece of architecture as well as a unique place to visit. The Biosphere is a spherical building that was built for the 1967 World Exhibition. It is now considered one of the most important structures of the 20th century.

Montreal's Biosphere is an architectural wonder of the world that was constructed for the 1967 World Fair. A decade later, it was converted into an environmental learning centre that teaches us how fragile our existence on this planet really is.

This science-focused landmark was designed by an international design firm called Buckminster Fuller et Associes under the directorship of once-architect turned physicist R. Buckminster Fuller. Visiting this landmark is like taking a trip within our own world, opening up your imagination & learning so much while doing it. Inspired by human biology, nature, & diversity of both plant & animal life on earth, it's truly a sight to be seen!
