Danville Police have released more information about an accident Sunday afternoon in which a 29-year-old Danville man was killed.
Commander Josh Webb said Sean Dye and an acquaintance, Micah Dye, were traveling east on Williams Street on motorcycles at a high rate of speed around 5 p.m. Sunday. Sean Dye struck a Buick sedan driven by 81-year-old Gladys Miller of Danville, who was driving southbound. Webb said video showed Miller stopped and waited for several cars before proceeding through the intersection. Dye struck the passenger side of Miller’s vehicle.
Sean Dye was taken to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, where he was pronounced dead.
Police are still investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call Danville Police at 431-2250 or Vermilion County CrimeStoppers at 446-TIPS.
