CNC Unmount and Remount for Smooth Wasteboard
This is a follow up to my 30x30 Longmill initial review in which I described my 'issue' with surfacing my waste board / table top. I describe the benefits of building my table using just screws to attach MDF to plywood as it allows me to utilize the bottom of the MDF as a new surface on which to mount the CNC.
Key takeaways : screw attachment of MDF top to plywood allows easy removal and when remounting the CNC, get one side secured and make sure the Y rails are even (I made sure the fronts and backs are equidistant from the edges of the table) and the unsecured side is the same distance from the secured side front and back. When fully secured it should be square - front to back and left to right.
Running the router left to right and front to back at the end makes sure it moves smoothly.
