Disposable groove kit in the park played it under the Hell's Gate bridge.
It's nice to be able to throw a small drum kit on to a hand cart or into the back of your car and set it up at a convenient spot and do some drumming. Perfect day in the park cool and quite until I showed up . Made a few friends while I was filming some music enthusiasts showed up and hung around had them try the drums for the first time they also took some pictures.
The positives with a drum kit this small besides easy setup is when you have a gig in a pub or bar the large drum set at times maybe a bit too much, If you can check the room out before your gig and that should indicate what size drums and setup to bring .
P.S I still haul my standard drum set to most of my gigs. House parties and rooftop gatherings are becoming all the rage these days and when my band calls and says we have a soft gig so we are all showing up with cube amps I know what kit I am bringing.
There are times when I need to bring down my volume so I always make sure I have my brushes and wooden blast sticks to keep things at an equal volume. This is working out for me and I hope it gives you new ideas about what drums to bring to certain gigs.
