To date Tik Tok has removed 7 of my videos siting breach of community guidelines. They do not, of course, inform you as to which guideline was violated making it extremely difficult to defend oneself. They do however provide you with a link to their community guidelines so that you can Scooby Doo the situation. However, I have failed to connect any of my content to an infraction of community guidelines let alone the 7 they've removed. Unfortunately their appeal process consists of clicking a link then waiting two months or more for them to send back a message saying the removal will stand. That's it, that's their process - no dialogue, no detail, and no additional recourse. It's almost as if it is an elaborate way to mask biased censorship of content that they do not want others on their platform to be privy too. It's not just Tik Tok. Similar processes can be found implemented on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest, and Instagram. Through their actions these platforms have proven that their goal is not the open sharing of views, but the absolute control of information. Why do they fear open dialogue? Why are their suppression efforts so covert? What reason would they have to lie about their intent?
