Friedrich Nietzsche summed up the two central principles in Greek culture as Apollonian and Dionysian. The name "Apollo" means "Be one, not many" and represents the left hemisphere of the brain where logic and reason reside. It is our source of identity and helps us filter reality. It is a name of rebellion.

Rebellion from the Ordinary World is vital in the Hero's Journey. The Hero learns that everything they know is wrong. This is true in STORY because it is true in us. We don't see the world as it is, we see it as we are.

Our journey starts when we reject our social conditioning and turn within to find our True Selves.
