Harbor freight 120 volt inverter review and JK install and cheap Videoglasses

Inverter 8/10
Video glasses 4/10

Want remote switchable 120 volt power in your Jeep, Chevy, Dodge, Ford or any other vehicle? Then this video is for you.

Reviewing and installing the Harbor Freight 400 watt inverter (Cen-Tech item# 61479), 800 watt surge in my jeep JKU so I have 120v for charging the battery powered chainsaw and whatever else I may want. I also extended the switch to the inside so I can turn on and off without having to open the hood. Looks like one style has rocker switch and the newer style does not! So watch out which one you get. ALSO, this like most the inverters out there is square wave, not sine wave. This may not work with some devices.

Do this mod at your own risk, since it is 120 volts on the output side of the inverter. Should be performed by an experienced technician! Do not work on this inverter without the battery power disconnected! This is considered “temporary” wiring, the unit is for emergency use and can be taken out when not in use.

On my Jeep Wrangler JK I found there are 2 ports/ pass through holes in the firewall to thread wires through. Not sure if this was intentional by Jeep, but what a great idea! I could not find any other way to get wires through the firewall without drilling a hole.

At the end of video is the tunnel and mountain side coming back from Bear Mountain in New York in my sons 1976 Corvette

I also tried a new pair of cheap video glasses, the video is decent, audio is not that great and sound lags the video, but they are super cheap!
