DJI Mavic active tracking on a motorcycle. VPS issues?

Testing out my new DJI Mavic drone in active tracking trace mode, forget to turn the video on and it followed me flawlessly, then once I turned the record on the Mavic kept losing it's VPS (I noticed later one) and the drone would keep climbing, not come home and wanted to land if I tried to lower it. But the collision avoidance worked well!
I assumed it was the motorcycle vibrations, but the drone did it later on while I piloted it in my hand, the VPS would turn red and the drone would start ascending on it's own. I found a VPS calibrator on DJI site http://www.dji.com/mavic/info#downloads, downloaded and installed. While running the program to calibrate the Mavic drone, the square to follow the onscreen square was laggy, so bad it would not display at times and the drone heat sinks on the bottom got very warm. At that time I remembered I did an update on the drone before flying and thought maybe it was corrupt, so in the DJI software there is a “refresh software” so I did that with the drone connected via USB, after the install I did the VPS calibration, no lag this time.
So I wonder if the drone was lagging from a bad firmware upgrade and when I hit record on the drone it was too much processing and would lag and lose the VPS? I am not sure, but it followed me perfectly until I hit record. BAD UNIT, EXCHANGED
**UPDATE** Still losing VPS after 5 to 10 minutes of flight, contacted Tech support and my Mavic has to be repaired, bad VPS. UGH... Brought it back to Best buy and exchanged for another one. Tested and this new one worked perfect
