DISTRACTED 18 WHEELER DRIVER JACK KNIVES, LIVINGSTON TEXAS, 12/07/21...

Distracted 18 Wheeler Loses Control, Severely Jacknives, LIVINGSTON, December 7, 2021 - Shortly before 11 am on December 7, 2021, an 18 wheeler was south-bound on US-59 (near Stallion Station Road south of Livingston). The driver was apparently distracted and failed to notice that there was a minor accident that was blocking the left lane (that he was driving in). The driver, Hayder Abed Shammari, 32, of Houston, noticed the accident at the last second and cut right to avoid slamming into the stopped vehicle, then overcorrected left and left the pavement to enter the center median as his 18 wheeler severely jack-knifed. Trooper Cotye Lowrie with the Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched to investigate. Fortunately there were no injuries. Shammari's rig was recovered by All Star Wrecker Service and will be stored in Livingston.Show more
