The Second Sunday of Advent gives us a prayer that reveals a great deal about our need for holy Scripture. In this prayer, we acknowledge the inspiration of the Bible and ask that God would enable us to take them into ourselves as food. Through the Scriptures we are changed into the people that God desires us to be. This is such an important prayer for us to have.

Here is the text:
Blessed Lord, who caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by patience and the comfort of your holy Word we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

Father Jeremiah is the vicar (part time parish priest) of Grace Anglican Church in Gastonia, NC. Grace Anglican is a church that is intentionally liturgical and desires to show people the beauty of the liturgy in daily life. We want people to learn how to serve Jesus through the various vocations he has placed each of us in. These vocations are the God-given places of our lives where we can truly love and serve our neighbors. The liturgy connects to our vocations by shaping us to see and love the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in our serving those we encounter in our daily lives.

Grace Anglican is a multi-generational, growing congregation that thrives on building relationships with all those who enter her doors. We worship every Sunday at 10am at 800 Robinson Rd, Gastonia, NC. Come and visit and discover the joy of liturgical worship and being sent to love and serve in our vocations.
