Arizona Phoenix South Mountain Park and Preserve 1

Looking for new and interesting things to do and see in Arizona, I happened to find a park in Phoenix that in huge, and unusually beautiful. There are hiking trails throughout, a nice windy road to drive through this small set of hills, horse trails with a horse ranch at the beginning of the park offering guided trail rides. The top of one of the hills is a set of radio and TV towers. The towers are lit up with red flashy lights at night making it a very good landmark. It’s visible for miles around.
Driving to the top of the hills, there are many side roads taking you to different peaks, each with a paved large parking area, incredible views of the surrounding areas, and trailheads for hiking, or picnicking.
