US announces diplomatic boycott of China's Winter Olympics

The United States has announced that it will not send any official delegates to the winter Olympics in China next year.
China reacted with anger when President Joe Biden's administration said it supported the efforts of US athletes, but would not support the event given the alleged treatment of the minority Muslim Uyghur population in western China.
