Athens, Greece: Riot police police use a tear gas to disperse demonstrators during clashes in a rally marking the 13th anniversary of the murder a 15-year-old anarchist, Alexandros Grigoropoulos, setting off a countrywide insurrection on December 6, 2021.

After these riots in Greece in 2008, a group in Athens wrote a communique about how slogans used to denigrate police were at times misogynistic and normalized authoritarian gender relations. A great reminder to try not to smuggle the dominant culture into the revolt.
