Dozens of firefighters are fighting to control an enormous blaze which is sweeping through an industrial estate.

Roads have been shut, and workers and student from a nearby college have been sent home while workers try to get the fire under control at Kidderminster Industrial Estate.

Locals said they heard a huge explosion before flames filled the sky above the Hoo Farm Industrial Estate in Kidderminster today (6). Local firefighters working on extinguishing the blaze are concerned about a nearby diesel tanker.

Jon Laight, group commander of Hereford and Worcester Fire & Rescue Service (HWFRS) said: "This is a significant fire so please avoid the area. "For those in Kidderminster, keep your windows and door shut due to the large amounts of smoke being produced. "Over 20 fire appliances on scene working with on-site experts and other emergency services."

The cause of the fire has yet to be confirmed.
